After a string of four wins, Chetek-Weyerhaeuser's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 71-59 to the Barron Golden Bears. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Chetek-Weyerhaeuser's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Barron, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chetek-Weyerhaeuser will welcome Mondovi at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Chetek-Weyerhaeuser is facing Mondovi at the right time seeing as Mondovi is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Barron, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Ashland at 7:00 p.m. Barron knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Ashland likes a good challenge.
