Plano unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Ottawa Pirates 35-6 on Friday. The Reapers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Dylan Saunders threw for 90 yards and one touchdown. Cameron Johnson was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards. On the ground, James Smithey rushed for 44 yards.

Plano will square off against Manteno at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ottawa, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Streator at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
