Volleyball Recap: Perry County Takes a Loss

Perry County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Summertown Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-9, 25-5.

Amelia Emerson was a one-woman wrecking crew For Summertown. as she had 20 kills, four aces, and three digs. Emerson has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 36 times she's played. Zoei Bonner was another key player, getting 27 assists.

Perry County's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Summertown, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 32-7.

Coming up, Perry County will welcome Collinwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Summertown, they will head out on the road to take on Summit at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
