Football Recap: Waunakee Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Waunakee can now relate to. They fell just short of the Arrowhead Warhawks by a score of 19-17 on Friday. The loss was the Warriors' first of the season.

Cole Krause threw for 94 yards and one touchdown. Colin Murphy was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards. On the ground, Eli Drangstveit rushed for 58 yards.

Arrowhead's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Devin Nettles led the charge by rushing for 117 yards, while also picking up 37 receiving yards. Jebari Craig Jr. was another key back, rushing for 92 yards and one TD.

Having lost for the first time this season, Waunakee fell to 12-1. As for Arrowhead, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

Waunakee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arrowhead, they will face off against Bay Port at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warhawks will need to watch out since the Pirates have now posted at least 31 points in their last 11 matchups.
