Volleyball Recap: Middleborough Takes a Loss

Middleborough lost against Bishop Stang on October 6th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sachems came up short against the Spartans, falling 3-0. The Sachems have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Middleborough was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-14, 25-20.

Bishop Stang had a senior duo take command as Anna Higgins had 14 digs and five aces and Maggie Martin had 15 digs, five kills, and two aces. Martin has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last five times she's played. Madison Alves was another key player, getting 13 assists and seven digs.

Middleborough's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Bishop Stang, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Middleborough does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Stang, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Dighton-Rehoboth Regional on the 24th.
