Baseball Recap: Oley Valley's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Oley Valley entered their tilt with Kutztown on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cougars 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Lynx, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chase Kegerise made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Kegerise wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gryffin Cappellano, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Oley Valley's record is now 6-2. As for Kutztown, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Oley Valley and Kutztown should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Lynx will face off against Brandywine Heights Area at 4:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (142 vs. 343). Meanwhile, Kutztown (ranked 44th) will meet Antietam (ranked 422nd) at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Cougars' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Mountaineers have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
