Softball Recap: Strasburg-Franklin Takes a Loss

Indian Valley hit Strasburg-Franklin with a six-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers fell just short of the Braves by a score of 6-4. Surprisingly, this marked the Tigers' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Ella Gilkerson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Sibila, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Strasburg-Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Indian Valley, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.

Coming up, Strasburg-Franklin will square off against Mt. Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Indian Valley, they will venture away from home to challenge Claymont at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
