Softball Recap: Oak Knoll Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Oak Knoll's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the New Providence Pioneers by a score of 5-1. This was a revenge game for the Royals: when they faced off against the Pioneers back in April, they had to take a 12-11 loss.

Kelsey Wincko spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

On the hitting side, Amelia Flood and Abby Han did most of the damage at the plate: Flood got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Han got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Han has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaitlin Wincko, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

With the victory, Oak Knoll broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-13. As for New Providence, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Oak Knoll does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Providence, they will challenge Hillsborough at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
