Volleyball Recap: Leuzinger Takes a Loss

Leuzinger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Culver City Centaurs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Olympians of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 25-16, 25-14.

Kimani Moore was the offensive standout of the game as he had 32 assists and six digs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 12.7 assists per game.

Leuzinger's loss dropped their record down to 9-4-1. As for Culver City, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Leuzinger and Culver City should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Olympians will square off against Lawndale at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (270 vs. 560). Meanwhile, Culver City (ranked 347th) will meet Hawthorne (ranked 885th) at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
