Baseball Recap: Beaumont United Takes a Loss

Beaumont United extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 35 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-14 in the process. They lost 15-2 to the Nederland Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-2 on Tuesday.

As for Nederland, they pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.

For Nederland's part, Bryce Ray made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ray was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sam Tritico, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Fletcher Berry, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Beaumont United does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nederland, they will challenge Port Neches-Groves at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
