Basketball Game Preview: Taft Greyhounds vs. George West Longhorns

The Taft Greyhounds will head out to challenge the George West Longhorns at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Taft took a blow against Ingleside, falling 78-40. The defeat continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, George West unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Zapata by a score of 50-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Longhorns have suffered since December 28, 2023.

George West's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Taft, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Taft strolled past George West when the teams last played back in January by a score of 86-68. Will Taft repeat their success, or does George West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
