            Softball Recap: Easley Green Wave vs. Greenwood Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Easley barely beat Greenwood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Green Wave put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp  9-3 win on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  victory the Green Wave have posted  against the Eagles since April 12, 2019.

 Jalyn McGee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three  runs (all of which were unearned)  on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Payton Todd, who  went 1-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Katie Marchbanks, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  RBI and one  run.
 They weren't the only ones working in the  home run department: Easley  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've posted since back in April.
Easley's win  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 9-12. As for Greenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
As of now, neither Easley nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
