Football Recap: Geneva Triumphs

Geneva's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton an 8-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

Ben Santos threw for 100 yards on only five passes. Andrew Green was his top target, picking up 89 receiving yards. On the ground, Gianni Velazquez rushed for 135 yards and one TD.

Geneva's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Geneva will challenge Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton, they will head out on the road to take on Palmyra-Macedon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton will need to watch out since the Red Raiders have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
