Northside Christian had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 1-9 to make it nine. They came up short against the Shekinah Christian Flames, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flames this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-0 back in April.

Northside Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Brumfield, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases. Brumfield has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.
As for Shekinah Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.
On Shekinah Christian's side, Aiden Nofziger and Jayce Yoder were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Nofziger pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Yoder pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Nofziger went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Yoder got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI. Shekinah Christian is undefeated when Nofziger posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, Alex Bauermeister was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Kilzer, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Coming up, Northside Christian is taking a road trip to challenge Delaware Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.44 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Shekinah Christian, they will be playing at home against Hayes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
