Basketball Recap: Chiles Takes a Loss

Chiles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 50-40 to the Leon Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-31 back in November of 2024.

Chiles' record is now 2-9. As for Leon, they moved to 7-8 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Chiles and Leon could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Chiles (ranked 448th) will meet Lincoln (ranked 93rd) at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Similarly, Leon will face off against Andrew Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 184 places (299 vs. 115).
