Softball Game Preview: Valley View Spartans vs. Dixie Greyhounds

The Valley View Spartans will head out to face off against the Dixie Greyhounds at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last six games Valley View has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Valley View didn't have quite enough to beat Carlisle and fell 11-10. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Lily Bell and Brelynn Riley did some serious damage despite the final result: Bell went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Riley scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Olivia Kozuszek also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Dixie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brookville.

Valley View's loss dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Dixie, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Valley View suffered a grim 20-10 defeat to Dixie when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
