Recap: Archbishop Bergan Knights vs. Mead Raiders
The Archbishop Bergan Knights came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 53-42 win over Mead. That's another feather in the cap for Archbishop Bergan, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Archbishop Bergan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Baker led the charge by scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Baker's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Logan Eggen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Archbishop Bergan's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Mead, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Archbishop Bergan and Homer will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Homer comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Mead and Cedar Bluffs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Cedar Bluffs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Friday.
