Recap: Lee-Scott Academy Warriors vs. Valiant Cross Academy Warriors
The Lee-Scott Academy Warriors were the 75-45 winner over the Valiant Cross Academy Warriors when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Lee-Scott Academy fell 72-59 to Valiant Cross Academy on Friday. Lee-Scott Academy has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Lee-Scott Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Haiden Harper. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 35.6% of Lee-Scott Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Barrett Cook, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Deshawn Hall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Valiant Cross Academy, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. Hall is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of John Cosby, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Lee-Scott Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 19-4 record this season. As for Valiant Cross Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.
Lee-Scott Academy will head out on the road to challenge Southern Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Southern Prep Academy is on a five-game streak of home losses, Lee-Scott Academy a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Valiant Cross Academy will take on Eastwood Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Eastwood Christian aren't just struggling at home either: they haven't won a game anywhere since December 1, 2023.
