Basketball Game Preview: Springtown Porcupines vs. Castleberry Lions

Springtown and Castleberry are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Springtown Porcupines will head out to face off against the Castleberry Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Castleberry took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Springtown, who comes in off a win.

Springtown is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Leadership Prep by a score of 64-54 on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Porcupines as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Castleberry came up short against Fort Worth THESA on Saturday and fell 50-43. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 995th, while the Riders are ranked 407th).

This is the second loss in a row for Castleberry and nudges their season record down to 5-10. As for Springtown, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.

Springtown didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Castleberry in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 45-39 win.
