Softball Recap: Limestone Comes Up Short

Limestone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Olympia Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rockets of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

AUTUMN MEYERS made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of ALYSSA MORAN, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Limestone's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Olympia, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Limestone will challenge Illinois Valley Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Olympia, they will take on Lincoln at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
