Baseball Recap: Old Forge Victorious

While Old Forge's victory against Elk Lake wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Devils sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Warriors on Tuesday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

TJ DiMattia made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Frank Pero was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Cam Krushnowski was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Old Forge's record is now 14-7. As for Elk Lake, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4.

As of now, neither Old Forge nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
