Basketball Recap: Liberty North Takes a Loss

Liberty North was the 60-57 winner over Blue Springs South when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Liberty North Eagles fell just short of the Blue Springs South Jaguars by a score of 54-51 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Jaguars are ranked 18th).

Liberty North has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Blue Springs South, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty North will host Lee's Summit North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blue Springs South, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lee's Summit at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
