Softball Recap: Elyria Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Elyria can now relate to. They fell just short of the Mentor Cardinals by a score of 5-4 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Pioneers in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost four in a row.

Hannah Quayle made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Lesko, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Elyria's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Mentor, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7.

As of now, neither Elyria nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
