Corona faced Santa Margarita in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Corona never let Santa Margarita get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The Panthers' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last five matchups.

The team relied heavily on Joshua Sur, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Trey Ebel, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Corona's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Santa Margarita, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Corona Panthers face off against JSerra Catholic Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. JSerra Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Corona's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Santa Margarita, they will face off against Mater Dei at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
