Baseball Game Preview: Edgewater Eagles vs. Dr. Phillips Panthers

The Edgewater Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Dr. Phillips Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Edgewater's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Monday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Edgewater didn't have quite enough to beat Freedom and fell 3-2.

Edgewater saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Alderman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Alderman has brought in this season.

Meanwhile, Dr. Phillips suffered their biggest defeat since April 9, 2025 on Friday. They came up short against Boone, falling 13-5. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Braves since Friday.

Dr. Phillips also got a good showing from Ronald Machado, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

Edgewater's record is now 1-4. As for Dr. Phillips, their record now sits at 1-5.

Edgewater suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Dr. Phillips in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
