Baseball Game Preview: Walnut Wildcats vs. Middleton Tigers

The Walnut Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Middleton Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Walnut is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Monday, Walnut came up short against Alcorn Central and fell 10-6.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Middleton duked it out with Fayette Ware on Friday. The Tigers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 7-1.

Middleton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Cornelius, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Kamren Bumpus also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Walnut's record is now 1-6. As for Middleton, their record now sits at 1-3.

Walnut got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Middleton by a conclusive 9-0 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
