Basketball Recap: Marion Harding's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but Marion Harding unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 56-49 to the River Valley Vikings. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Presidents this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-56 back in December of 2024.

Chase Ebert was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 8 en route to 21 points for River Valley. Ebert is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Owen Osting, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Marion Harding's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-3. As for River Valley, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Marion Harding and River Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Marion Harding will face off against Madison Comprehensive at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday up 482 places (83 vs. 565). Marion Harding will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Similarly, River Valley (ranked 76th) will meet Buckeye Valley (ranked 240th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
