Basketball Recap: Blake Takes a Loss

Blake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Wootton Patriots 55-16. The game marked the Bengals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Wootton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maya Gopstein out in front who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 19 boards. Wootton is 3-1 when Gopstein posts eight or more rebounds, but 5-11 otherwise. Maya Bellamy was another key player, putting up five points in addition to nine boards and five assists.

Blake's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Wootton, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-12.

As of now, neither Blake nor Wootton have any future games scheduled.
