Softball Game Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Cleveland Storm

Valley is 0-3 against Cleveland since May of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Valley Vikings will square off against the Cleveland Storm at 3:00 p.m. Valley has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Valley lost 18-1 to Atrisco Heritage Academy on Thursday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liliana Roybal, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Cleveland didn't have quite enough to beat Roswell on Saturday and fell 6-5.

Cleveland has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-3.

Valley might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Cleveland in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
