Meanwhile, Pottsville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tamaqua 74-47 at home.
Pottsville found their leader in underclassman Christian Alvarez, who scored 26 points. The contest was Alvarez's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Derek Watkins was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Jim Thorpe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Pottsville, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-2.
