Basketball Recap: Layla Walker Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Rockdale

Rogers won the last time they faced Rockdale and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rogers Eagles took down the Rockdale Tigers 53-35.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rogers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Layla Walker, who posted 12 points and three steals. That's the most points Walker has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kyra Yates, who put up nine points and four steals.

Rogers is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points over those games. As for Rockdale, their loss dropped their record down to 13-17.

Rogers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 48-40 win against Teague on the 10th. Rockdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
