Baseball Recap: New Castle Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither New Castle nor Knightstown made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Trojans came up short against the Panthers, falling 9-0. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2018.

New Castle saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caiden Regan, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

New Castle's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Knightstown, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Castle will take on Shenandoah at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 15.3 runs per game this season. As for Knightstown, they will face off against Purdue Polytechnic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
