After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Orange Vista, Vista del Lago was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Paloma Valley Wildcats 55-54. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Ravens also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

A big part of Vista del Lago's win came down to the chemistry between Josiah Dupree-Boyd and his top target Jae'Lynn Brown. Dupree-Boyd threw for 451 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.7% of his passes while Brown picked up 341 receiving yards and three TDs. Brown really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 92 yards. EJ Mayhand-Souvenier helped Dupree-Boyd out on the ground, rushing for 90 yards and one score.

Vista del Lago didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tristin James and Isaac Moore.

Despite the defeat, Paloma Valley had strong showings from Isaac Navarro, who threw for 384 yards and seven TDs, and Noah Davis, who picked up 208 receiving yards and five touchdowns. With that strong performance, Davis is now averaging an impressive 109.6 receiving yards per game.

Vista del Lago's record is now 6-3. As for Paloma Valley, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Vista del Lago has already played their next matchup, a 24-6 victory against JW North on the 30th. As for Paloma Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 41-35 defeat against Liberty on the 30th.
