Basketball Game Preview: Sedgwick Cardinals vs. Remington Broncos

The Sedgwick Cardinals will take on the Remington Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sedgwick has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 20.

Last Friday, Sedgwick lost to Marion at home by a 37-20 margin. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Warriors are ranked 113th).

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Remington against Sterling on Friday as the team secured a 57-28 win. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season.

Remington is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.1 points over those games. As for Sedgwick, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Sedgwick suffered a grim 53-30 defeat to Remington when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Sedgwick avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
