Football Recap: Mercer Island Takes a Loss

Mercer Island extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-6. They took a blow against the Liberty Patriots, falling 48-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Islanders haven't been shut out since back in September.

Luke Christofferson threw for 34 yards on 12 of 22 attempts.

As for Liberty, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Considering they have won six games by more than 28 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Tristan Klein went supernova, rushing for 135 yards and three scores on only nine carries. Those 135 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Marek Wright was in the mix as well, providing Liberty with two touchdowns.

Mercer Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty, they will welcome Evergreen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
