Basketball Recap: University Prep Value Takes a Loss

University Prep Value and New West Charter squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but University Prep Value had to settle for second. They took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New West Charter Eagles. The Wolves' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

New West Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Liam Hakimi out in front who posted 20 points along with five boards and four blocks. That makes it five consecutive games in which Hakimi has scored at least a third of New West Charter's points. Nathan Castellanos was another key player, putting up ten points and six steals.

University Prep Value now has a losing record of 11-12. As for New West Charter, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

University Prep Value does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New West Charter, they will face off against Horace Mann UCLA Community at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Horace Mann UCLA Community's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.
