Basketball Recap: Coahoma County Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After a string of four wins, Coahoma County's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a hard 42-26 fall against the Grenada Chargers. The contest marked the Red Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Loss or not, Coahoma County got some senior leadership from Tamia Fields and Caitlin Hall. Fields dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Hall posted nine points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. That was a full 34.6% of Coahoma County's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Tataria Myles was another key player, putting up five steals.

Leading Grenada to victory were Addyson White and Carlei Brown. White dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards, while Brown had 16 points and eight rebounds. The game was Brown's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalysia Tedford, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Coahoma County's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-3. As for Grenada, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.

Coahoma County is taking a road trip to take on Independence at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for Grenada, they will host Olive Branch at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th.
