Recap: Aquinas Blugolds vs. Luther Prep Phoenix
The Aquinas Blugolds had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.6 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They put the hurt on Luther Prep with a sharp 46-22 win. The result was nothing new for Aquinas, who have now won eight games by 21 points or more so far this season.
David Malin was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Logan Becker was another key contributor, picking up 136 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Luther Prep still got an impressive performance from Arthur Robinson, who rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Robinson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
Aquinas' victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Luther Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Aquinas will take on Columbus at TBD on Friday. Columbus will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. Luther Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
