Basketball Recap: Warwick Comes Up Short

Warwick lost against Denbigh back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warwick Raiders fell 41-31 to the Denbigh Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Patriots are ranked 56th).

Warwick has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Denbigh, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warwick has already played their next game (against Tabb), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Denbigh has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Norview.
