It was a good run, but Plainfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the East Lyme Vikings, falling 15-1. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Plainfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for East Lyme, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plainfield will square off against Bacon Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Bobcats have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for East Lyme, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Ledyard at 4:15 p.m. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Colonels have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
