Baseball Recap: Monsignor McClancy Crusaders vs. Chaminade Flyers
Monsignor McClancy had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 4-11 to make it four. They lost 8-0 to the Chaminade Flyers. If the Crusaders were looking for revenge after losing 6-0 to the Flyers when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Chaminade, the win got them back to even at 13-13. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.
For Chaminade's part, Kenny Meliere and Jack Pfeifer dominated on the mound. Meliere didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched, while Pfeifer tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Pfeifer posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, Connor Meehan was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Danny Nawrocki was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Looking ahead, Monsignor McClancy will take on St. John's Prep at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Chaminade does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
