Softball Recap: Orem Comes Up Short

Orem and Cedar squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Orem had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Reds by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Sadie Groneman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cheyanne Wells, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

With the defeat, Orem broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-11. As for Cedar, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 23-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Reds beat Orem by a score of 11-8 on Friday.
