The Loara Saxons will face off against the Century Centurions at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Loara is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.

Loara is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Estancia just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, Loara can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Estancia are ranked 97th).

Brandon Navarro wasn't going to let Estancia walk away unscathed as he scored both of Loara's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Century, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Bolsa Grande a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Century were the better team in the second half.

Loara's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Century, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 8-6-2.

Loara got the 'W' in their previous meeting two weeks ago against Century by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Saxons repeat their success, or do the Centurions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
