Basketball Recap: Labette County Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Colten Weil and Nolan Nash

Labette County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 47-36 to the Field Kindley Golden Tornado. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Golden Tornado are ranked 107th).

Nolan Nash and Colten Weil certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Nash dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards, while Weil posted six points and five steals. Those 13 rebounds gave Nash a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Labette County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Labette County's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Field Kindley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Labette County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-60 defeat against Winfield on the 4th. As for Field Kindley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 60-50 victory against Pittsburg on the 7th.
