Basketball Recap: Parkwood Skates Past Anson with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Stanly, Parkwood was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They breezed by the Anson Bearcats to the tune of 59-19. That's more bragging rights for the Wolf Pack, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Parkwood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooke Fowler out in front who went 5 for 10 on her way to 13 points and six steals. Fowler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Jordan Vaughn was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Parkwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Anson only posted four assists.

With the victory, Parkwood broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-11. As for Anson, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Parkwood will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Piedmont at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Anson has already played their next contest, a 70-32 defeat against West Stanly on the 14th.
