Softball Recap: Dos Palos Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Dos Palos won the last time they faced Tranquillity and things went their way on Friday too. The Broncos never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Carly Brinkley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Athena Correa was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Samantha VonAllman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Dos Palos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Dos Palos pushed their record up to 7-6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tranquillity, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Dos Palos has already played their next matchup, a 7-0 loss against Justin Garza on the 12th. As for Tranquillity, they will be taking part in a tournament against Roosevelt at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
