Baseball Recap: Edgewood Academy Takes a Loss

Edgewood Academy entered their game against Lowndes Academy on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wildcats fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 8-7. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since February 29, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Grayson Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Garrett Myers, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Edgewood Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Lowndes Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgewood Academy will challenge Morgan Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lowndes Academy, they will face off against Coosa Valley Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
