Baseball Recap: Tallwood's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against First Colonial, Tallwood was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Kellam Knights a 3-0 shutout. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Carson Taylor's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Tallwood is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Tallwood's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carson Whaley, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Tallwood's victory bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Kellam, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
