Baseball Recap: Mountain View Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Mountain View and Dobson pushed the score to 20-5 the last time they played Dobson, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Toros never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Toros have posted since February 27th.

The result came thanks to Austin Burr's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Mountain View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beckham Barney, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Mountain View has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Dobson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Mountain View will take on Highland at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Dobson, they will face off against West Point at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
