Basketball Recap: Seven Straight Road Wins for Brush

On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Brush Beetdiggers beat the Wray Eagles 45-41. Given the Beetdiggers' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Eagles are ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brush was led to victory by Jocelynn Middlemist and Michelle Headley. Middlemist dropped a double-double on ten points and 19 boards, while Headley dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Headley has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 29 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidney Miller, who posted three points and seven rebounds.

Brush smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Wray still got an impressive performance from Addison Jones, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 18 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Katie Harms, who scored six points and six rebounds.

Brush pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Wray, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.

Brush has already played their next contest, a 48-36 loss against Wiggins on the 24th. As for Wray, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 53-43 win against Liberty Common on the 24th.
